The Miami Heat have remained relatively quiet during this offseason.
In fact, they have lost more assets than they have gained.
That is mostly because they have been trying to acquire Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.
But what happens if a deal for him never materializes?
According to insider Marc Stein, via Dru on Twitter, the Heat will cook up something else if they don’t get Lillard.
“Instinct tells me that, if they aren’t going all out for Dame, they have a Plan B or C. Or a Plan A,” Stein told his followers on Substack.

Fans of the Heat aren’t surprised to hear that their team has several plans in mind.
Obviously, they would love to get Lillard on the roster – that is their ultimate goal.
But it has become very clear that the Trail Blazers aren’t impressed by what the Heat are offering.
The Heat might finally cough up even more in the last days before training camp as a last-ditch effort to get Lillard.
But it’s also very likely that they let this pass and move on to other plans.
What would those plans look like?
There have been multiple names linked to the Heat throughout the summer.
Many of them have been lesser-known stars and some of them, like Kelly Oubre Jr., have now made deals with other teams.
But Pat Riley is a mastermind when it comes to trades and he surely has multiple options to pursue.
In just a few days, a lot might happen for the Heat.
They will either finally get Lillard or they will instead commit to other players and put this long, complicated summer behind them.
