Currently, the Miami Heat‘s primary focus is doing everything within its power to trade for superstar guard Damian Lillard and create another Big 3 in South Beach.
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned up to this point during the NBA offseason in order to make this blockbuster trade come to fruition, as the Portland Trail Blazers have been reluctant to make a deal to send the face of the franchise to the Eastern Conference heavyweights.
At this point, there’s no telling when or if the Heat will be able to acquire Lillard this summer, and in the meantime, the team is starting to consider other options or at least find different ways to bolster their backcourt.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Heat could be flirting with the idea of bringing back a familiar face, with the team reportedly talking to veteran guard Goran Dragic via Heat Nation.
Heat and Goran Dragic’s team have had conversations.

Although the best days of Dragic’s playing days in the NBA are behind him, he played some of his best basketball while with the Heat and could be a welcome addition to a backcourt that took a hit in free agency this summer.
Despite the departures of Gabe Vincent and Max Strus, Miami still has a talented backcourt, but adding a savvy veteran like Dragic wouldn’t hurt.
If the Heat can trade for Lillard, it’s safe to assume that the roster will look much different, with some holes needing to be filled, and Dragic isn’t a bad option even at this stage in his NBA career.
