Some people might not remember but Andre Iguodala played for the Memphis Grizzlies a couple of seasons ago.
Well, he didn’t exactly play for them but he was definitely on the team.
Back in 2019, Iguodala was traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Grizzlies with an understanding that Memphis would either buy out his contract or trade him to a contending team.
In other words, Iguodala didn’t see a bright future with the Grizzlies and didn’t want to be a part of them.
And now one of that team’s best players is speaking out about the whole situation.
"We all had the vision. He didn't which is perfect.."
"We kept building and building …more guys got on the train & we were able to create something like this and keep building this dynasty & program up to new heights."

Dillon Brooks spoke about Iguodala on Monday night, saying “We all had the vision. He didn’t which is perfect.”
He went on: “We kept building and building. More guys got on the train and we were able to create something like this and keep building this dynasty and program up to new heights.”
It’s no coincidence that Brooks made this statement right after beating Iguodala and the Warriors, 123-95.

In the years since his brief time in Memphis, Iguodala has gone on record to say that he didn’t dislike the Grizzlies, he was just told by people he trusts that it wasn’t the right fit for him.
It seems like Iguodala and his team really wanted him to win another Finals and it didn’t seem like that was possible in Memphis.
How times have changed.
The Grizzlies are currently the second seed in the West and are doing incredibly well, even with their best player, Ja Morant, sidelined due to injury.
The Phoenix Suns are a very difficult team to beat but it’s possible that the Grizzlies can pull that feat off.
One thing is for sure: the Grizzlies are having a much better season than Iguodala and the Warriors.
