If Denver Broncos fans and NFL fans across the globe thought that this was an anomaly of a season, they thought correctly.
This team, particularly the offense, is playing worse than nearly any other season in franchise history.

Let’s start with the 14.3 points per game.
In 1966, the only season in which the Broncos scored less than they have in 2022, the Broncos finished with a 4-10 record.
One additional fun fact about the 1966 Broncos is that they are the only team in AFL/NFL history to go an entire game without securing a first down.
Broncos’ Historical Feats
Given that the Broncos have only scored 14.3 points a game, they have also had a historically low touchdown rate.
Their 14 total touchdowns are their worst mark since 1971.
In 1971, the Broncos finished with a record of 4-9-1, posting similar marks to their 2022 season.
Finally, the eight touchdown passes.
This is the lowest rate for the Broncos since 1990 when their 5-11 record was a franchise-worst since the AFL-NFL merger.
Quarterback Russell Wilson and the Broncos are on pace to have the worst historical season for the franchise.
Because of their trade for Wilson, not only do the Broncos not have any desirable draft picks in the 2023 Draft, but they will have limited cap space to acquire any weapons in the offseason.
They will assuredly need to address many needs when the season is over but will need to be clever about doing so.
This team is in trouble.
Can they pull themselves out of the hole that they have dug?
