San Francisco Giants veteran Wilmer Flores has to be one of the most underrated players in baseball.
He is more than just a specialist against left-handed pitchers: he will be 32 in less than a month and has already accumulated nine years of MLB service time, 137 home runs, and a career .754 OPS.
Those are solid numbers for a part-time player.
Giants fans know how dangerous Flores is when he catches fire.
That has been the case in the last two games, both Giants victories.
In fact, the team has seven wins in a row and Flores is a big reason why.
He did something that we hadn’t seen since Barry Bonds was terrorizing pitchers in a Giants uniform.
“Wilmer Flores is the first Giants player with 8+ total bases in back-to-back games since Barry Bonds on April 2-3, 2002,” MLB stats expert Sarah Langs tweeted.

Flores is hitting a cool .292/.348/.520 with 11 home runs, 28 runs, and 30 RBI in 67 games and 224 plate appearance for San Francisco this year.
He is also sporting a career-high 134 wRC+, which means he has produced 34 percent more (offensively speaking) than the league-average hitter.
The last two games have been particularly productive for the Venezuelan.
On Monday, he had three hits: two doubles and a home run against the Cincinnati Reds.
On Tuesday, he also collected eight total bases but more efficiently, with two home runs.
In the two games, he has scored four runs and driven in six.
Throughout history, the Giants have shown a knack for getting the best out of their veterans.
They sure are working their magic with Flores.
