The New York Giants need to have a big offseason to restore some faith among a restless fan base after floundering to a 3-14 record thanks to an untenable quarterback situation and a roster in desperate need of young talent.
As always, success starts at the top, and the Giants are hoping a new assistant coach can get more out of their worst position group from last season.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter is reporting that the Giants are hiring former Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills wide receivers coach Chad Hall as their assistant quarterbacks coach.
“Hall now reunites with his former Bills colleagues, HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen, in New York. Hall also is the brother-in-law of current Rams QB Matthew Stafford,” Schefter wrote on X.

Hall will be tasked with turning around a quarterback room that has let down fans ever since Eli Manning retired. He will come in with a fresh start and a new quarterback, so he’ll likely have a long leash.
It’s unclear who the quarterback will be, but the Giants could have a chance to land one of the top two prospects, Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. They have the No. 3 overall pick and could trade up or simply hope for the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 or Cleveland Browns at No. 2 to draft someone else.
Hall spent two years as the Jaguars’ receivers coach and the previous three years in the same role with the Bills, so it will be interesting to see how the former NFL WR transitions to a new position.
