It is an exciting time to be an NFL fan.
The craziness of free agency was in full force last week, and with Pro Days taking place this week, there is plenty of content for fans to consume.
Plus, the NFL Draft is right around the corner, which should also provide a lot of entertainment and additional excitement.
Over the past several days, there has been some buzz surrounding the New York Giants regarding quarterback prospect J.J. McCarthy.
Given the recent frustrations with Daniel Jones ‘ play, there is a suspicion that the Giants are interested in McCarthy.
However, as Art Stapleton noted in a recent tweet, Giants GM Joe Schoen is not expected to attend McCarthy’s Pro Day.
J.J. McCarthy takes the pre-draft stage at Michigan’s Pro Day today. I’m not expecting #NYGiants GM Joe Schoen to be in attendance in Ann Arbor, barring a last minute change, but they should be well represented regardless.
Giants have had McCarthy and Drake Maye in for Top 30…— Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) March 22, 2024
Stapleton indicates that the Giants will have other staff members in attendance, but it is a bit strange that Schoen will not be there.
If the team was truly interested in drafting McCarthy, especially if he were to replace Jones, one might assume that their GM would want to be in attendance.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the team isn’t interested in him.
This has been a confusing situation for Giants fans, especially since the team signed Jones to a four-year contract extension.
They liked what they saw from him at one point, but with recent conversations in mind, that might no longer be the case.
The Giants are looking to get back to the level of success they found in 2022, and they could take extreme measures to try and get back to that place.
