As Matthew Stafford approaches his 17th NFL season in 2025, his arm talent remains a marvel in the league.
Though he may not be considered the absolute best, his versatility is undeniable.
From launching deep throws downfield to threading precise passes through tight coverage, hitting sideline routes, or unleashing sidearm and baseball-style throws, Stafford’s repertoire knows no bounds.
When the Los Angeles Rams orchestrated the trade that sent Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions in exchange for Stafford, their vision was clear: They needed an elite arm to chase a Super Bowl.
That gamble paid off with a championship, and now teams seeking quarterback excellence might be tempted to reach out to Rams general manager Les Snead.
Former NFL receiver Harry Douglas recently identified three potential landing spots if the Rams decide to move on from Stafford.
“You can’t help but if you’re other teams, you have to test the waters and make that call to Les Snead. You have to make that call to the [Rams owners] and try to see if you can get Matthew Stafford with a trade,” Douglas said, via Freddie and Harry.

The suggestions included the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans.
Douglas’ analysis highlighted some compelling factors.
The Raiders boast more than $90 million in cap space, while the Steelers have approximately $40 million to work with.
The Titans hold an enticing asset in the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Adding to the appeal, both Nevada and Tennessee offer the financial advantage of no state income tax, which could factor into Stafford’s considerations.
Although Stafford might prefer to remain in Los Angeles, Douglas believes these teams would be remiss not to explore the possibility of acquiring the quarterback’s services.
