The Atlanta Falcons keep making moves.
They just added Darnell Mooney to their core, and they finally have a quarterback.
That’s why former offensive tackle Taylor Lewan believes they’re now the team to beat in the NFC South.
Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, the former Tennessee Titans raved about the new-look Falcons.
He acknowledged that Kirk Cousins hasn’t been any good in the playoffs, but he says that he’s a very good regular-season guy, and he’ll now have plenty of talent to work with.
He added that he wishes Arthur Smith was still there because of how much he’d be able to make the most of Cousins’ talents.
“The Atlanta Falcons are now the team to beat in the NFC South,” Lewan said.

The NFC South is the weakest division in the league.
The Falcons had flirted with postseason contention for three years now, but they kept falling short.
Now, they have a better coach in terms of defensive mindset, and a much improved quarterback situation.
It shouldn’t take long before the Falcons are back in the postseason, and anything short of a division title should be considered a failure in Georgia.
They’ve spent a lot of money to get Kirk Cousins.
But he’s not getting any younger and is coming off a major injury, so they cannot afford to wait to compete the next year or the season after.
This team must make a Super Bowl push right now, and they’ll hope that the former Minnesota Viking will finally get over the hump and get his second career postseason win.
