The New England Patriots are bidding one of their legends farewell.
Former great safety Duron Harmon has announced that he’s walking away from the game.
The team took to social media to wish him well in the next chapter of his career, coining his iconic ‘The Closer’ nickname.

The Patriots took Harmon in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Rutgers.
It didn’t take long before he became a mainstay in Bill Belichick’s defense, as well as one of the most respected safeties in the league.
Through his seven years in Foxboro, he logged 175 combined tackles, 28 pass deflections, 17 picks, and three fumble recoveries.
He was known for his ability to make big plays in the clutch.
That includes an epic game-winning interception of Joe Flacco in the 2015 Divisional Round triumph over the Baltimore Ravens.
He played a big role in four trips to the Super Bowl, helping the Patriots win three of those.
Harmon then went on to play for the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and Chicago Bears.
Now with Mike Vrabel at the helm, Robert Kraft’s team is trying to get back to its winning ways.
They went on a big spending spree in the offseason to turn the team around after years of struggles.
And while they could certainly use a clutch performer like Harmon, they should still have plenty of talent to get by.
