One of the top coordinators available has found a new job with the Miami Dolphins.
That is former Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio.
On Sunday, Fangio agreed to a deal with the Dolphins to become their next defensive coordinator.
This is a huge get for the Dolphins as Fangio was one of the most sought-after coordinators on the open market.
One reason Fangio chose the Dolphins was that they made him the highest-paid coordinator in the NFL.
But, the main reason what that he wanted to be a part of the staff with head coach Mike McDaniel in Miami.
Former NFL player Andrew Whitworth gave McDaniel plenty of credit for pulling off this hire.
Wow! This says as much about Mike McDaniel as anything. Fangio had plenty of options and he’s made plenty of money. He chose this coach and this situation! Huge move for them! https://t.co/2Tptsmz7O0

Another team that was going after Fangio was the Carolina Panthers, but Fangio chose Miami instead.
He inherits a defense that was in the bottom half of the NFL in total yards and points allowed.
Also, he will have to play in a tough division with the Bills, Jets, and Patriots.
All teams that made a run at the playoffs this past season.
Despite his shortcomings as a head coach, Fangio has led top-10 defenses in each of his last three stops.
The most prevalent being the Chicago Bears in 2018, who were the top defense in the NFL.
Miami has a chance to compete in the AFC if they can stay healthy.
This past season they lost quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for four games plus the playoffs.
Tagovailoa needs to stay healthy for the full season next year and the Dolphins could win the AFC East.
But, adding Fangio is a great start to their offseason and it will be interesting to see how he improves their defense.
