The Miami Dolphins found themselves back in the NFL playoff this season thanks to their offense.
Despite losing Tua Tagovailoa in the closing games of the season, their offense showed life in the NFL wild card round.
However, their defense never held off their opponents in games, making their wins closer than they should have been.
But that now changes, as the team made the move to hire Vic Fangio as their new defensive coordinator.
The #Dolphins have agreed to terms with Vic Fangio on a deal that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid coordinator, per sources.
It’s a 3-year deal with a 4th-year team option. Fangio, the former #Broncos coach, is one of football’s best defensive minds. Huge get for Mike McDaniel. pic.twitter.com/ynCK2BB2xC

With Fangio being such a great defensive coach, it excites fans over the hiring.
One football fan sees this move as an amazing spot for whoever will quarterback the Dolphins in 2023.
best WR core in the league & a top 5 defensive coordinator what an amazing spot for a quarterback to be

Even people who aren’t fans of the Dolphins see the move as the franchise making a move to try to win a Super Bowl.
Not a Dolphin’s fan but their attempt at winning a championship is respectable…they’re trying

While the move has everyone talking, it’s easy to see fans of the Dolphins getting fired up over the hiring.

However, one fan feels the move makes the Dolphins “legitimate contenders,” next season.
The Miami Dolphins are legitimate contenders next year. Vic Fangio is probably the best defensive mind in football history along with Bill Belichick and Tony Dungy.

Fangio’s defensive coaching has seen plenty of teams turn around their defenses because of him.
With fans knowing he can do this, they see the Dolphins as contenders because of him and the team’s current defensive talent.
He was the man behind the revival of the San Francisco 49ers’ defense while he was with the team.
However, he didn’t just turn around their defense, as he was part of the Chicago Bears’ defense going from a 30th-ranked defense to a top-15 defense.
If he can turn those teams defenses around, then he can give hope to the Dolphins in 2023.
