The 2023 NFL Draft provided lots of drama, trades, and unexpected picks.
There were a lot of polarizing prospects during this class, including many of the quarterbacks.
C.J. Stroud was among the most polarizing, who is now at the helm for the Houston Texans.
However, in a recent segment shared by the NFL on CBS, former Ohio State running back Beanie Wells had high praise for Stroud.
“I’d compare him to Joe Burrow in terms of accuracy and Matt Ryan,” Wells said.

Stroud hasn’t even played an NFL snap, yet Wells is comparing him to two quarterbacks that have found immense NFL success.
While fans haven’t seen Stroud on the NFL gridiron, let’s take a look at his collegiate numbers.
In two years as the Buckeyes starter, Stroud racked up 8,123 passing yards, 85 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions.
He did show poise in the pocket during his time at Ohio State, and proved to be a solid decision-maker, given his low interception total.
Stroud had nearly a 70% completion percentage at OSU, which could bode well for him in the NFL.
In Burrow’s two years as the main starter at LSU, he totaled 8,565 passing yards, 76 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
Over those two seasons, Burrow’s completion percentage was lower than Stroud’s, averaging 67.05%.
While some players have a difficult time translating their collegiate game to the pros, Burrow hasn’t seemed to struggle with the transition.
Can Stroud have a similar impact, bringing the Texans back to the former glory they found during the early days of Deshaun Watson?
