The Golden State Warriors were quite literally changed to their core last week when it was announced that general manager Bob Myers was leaving the organization after many years.
The loss of Myers could have a huge impact on the future of the team, the players they acquire, and the success they find.
Former Warriors player Matt Barnes gave his opinion on Myers saying goodbye to Golden State and had high praise for him.
“Bob’s been one of the most impactful front office guys for the last 10 years and I think sometimes stuff just runs its course,” Barnes said on FanDuel TV.

Barnes mentioned that he has heard the team’s ownership might have been getting a bit too hands-on with their approach to team-building and that may have had an impact on Myers leaving Golden State.
Other reports have said that the two sides couldn’t see eye-to-eye on a new contract extension for the GM.
Either way, Myers oversaw the team during its most transformative and successful periods.
Because of Myers, the Warriors are the team we see today, filled with the Hall-of-Fame talent that has altered the league.
Barnes said that the partnership between Myers and the Warriors ran its course and now the question is if other players and staff members will also be leaving the team.
This could mark the beginning of yet another transitional time for the franchise.
We may be seeing a different Warriors team next season, with new coaching staff members and different players on the court too.
If that’s the case, this truly will be the end of an epic era.
