The Golden State Warriors are currently without a general manager, as Bob Myers is leaving the organization after years of leading them to new heights in the NBA.
Myers will leave a major hole in the team’s front office and whoever takes his place will have big shoes to fill.
According to 95.7 The Game host Matt Steinmetz, a former Warriors star is set to become the new general manager.
“The next GM of the Warriors is gonna be Mike Dunleavy, according to my sources,” Steinmetz said on his show.
“They got to agree to money, but if the money’s right, Dunleavy’s gonna be here. If he’s not here, it means the money wasn’t right,” he added.

Dunleavy has been a name rumored to take on Myer’s job for months now.
Speculation around Myers and his future within the team has run rampant for most of 2022-23.
Considering that Dunleavy has been Myers’ assistant for a few years, his promotion would only make sense.
Long before he was working with Myers, Dunleavy was a part of the Warriors.
Golden State fans will remember that he was the number three pick in the 2002 draft and played with the Warriors for four seasons before moving on to the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, and beyond.
He was hired as a pro scout for the team in 2018 and then became assistant general manager in 2019.
Myers himself has indicated that he thinks Dunleavy is right for the job.
In the press conference announcing his departure, Myers referenced Dunleavy and said he’d do a great job as GM, if that was what he wanted.
Most signs point to Dunleavy definitely wanting the job.
And now more and more reports are saying that it could be his soon.
