Nearly everyone is very impressed by the hard work of the Miami Heat and their amazing journey to the NBA Finals this year.
As incredible as their accomplishment is, it’s also not that surprising when you consider the people running the team’s front office.
Former NBA coach George Karl had nothing but praise for the Heat following their gigantic win over the Boston Celtics on Monday night.
On Twitter, he said that the Heat “ultimately destroyed the will and belief of the Celtics.”
He also added that Pat Riley “has been a gift to the game for over a half century.”

Karl is right on both counts: the Heat did destroy the will and belief of the Celtics and Riley is a true gift to the NBA.
Miami was able to throw the Celtics off their game from the start of the series, securing three wins in a row.
They put their backs against the wall and even though the Celtics had a strong surge back, they were never able to truly find their footing again.
As for Riley, he has expertly run the team’s front office for years now.
Although a lot of the Heat’s success is owed to the players and head coach Erik Spoelstra, Riley has created a culture in Miami that is determined and calm, even when the rest of the league makes huge changes and shifts constantly.
The Heat have been very steadfast and measured over the last few years and it is paying off.
Will that hardened resolve get them another championship ring?
If so, even more people will be praising the team and Riley.
