While some teams such as the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants are enjoying winning streaks, the same cannot be said for the Oakland Athletics and their fans.
Last week, the news became official that the A’s would be moving to Las Vegas, leaving Oakland without a baseball team.
This has been met with much sadness in the City of Oakland.
Fans, former players, and media members all have been very vocal about the situation.
Former A’s pitcher Dallas Braden, who is now a broadcaster for the team, appeared on the baseball podcast “Foul Territory” to express his sadness over the situation and what the A’s organization means to him.
"That hurt…It almost made me want to cry."
Great new Starkville!@DALLASBRADEN209 on the emotional side of Oakland losing the A's. Plus his reaction to Rob Manfred, his epic A-Rod story & so much more.

Braden talked about how he has a responsibility to the organization, the game of baseball, his colleagues, the players, and the fans.
He echoed many fans’ concerns, understanding that the fans just want an honest answer from owner John Fisher about this situation.
Braden says it’s tough to balance that with the emotion that comes with being a lifelong fan and a former player in the organization.
He talked about figuring out what the lines are and how to walk them carefully, especially in times such as these, understanding that the fans and organization know how much he appreciates them, as well as the game of baseball.
Braden is certainly in a tough position right now, knowing he has to do his duty as a member of the A’s organization, while also trying to balance how he feels as a fan and a former player.
