Dirk Nowitzki is arguably one of the greatest players to set foot on an NBA court.
The Dallas Mavericks icon had an incredible career that had ups and downs but saw him become an NBA champion after many years of trying.
Nowitzki earned a lot of love and respect thanks to his loyalty to the Mavericks, and when somebody tries to disrespect him, they’re ready to defend him.
Fox Sports analyst Chris Broussard recently tried to make a case for Nikola Jokic as a better player than Kevin Durant, Kevin Garnett, and Charles Barkley.
He also mentioned Nowitzki and went further, saying that Dirk is overrated by people.
Chris Broussard: “I think Dirk is overrated by a lot of people.”
He really just said that. pic.twitter.com/Un7z7wKNin

Many fans didn’t like this and were quick to call him out. Others actually agreed with Broussard and supported his take.
Dirk was a bucket

Y’all turned him into a God cause he beat Lebron once. Cmon now

Ok, seeing the actual source of the “Dirk is overrated” statement now I understand the full context. I see where Chris Broussard is coming from. I wouldn’t say Dirk is better than Charles Barkley and KG either, I can see that. Overrated is still harsh tho

Dirk Nowitzki became a terrific player in Dallas, helping the team win their first and only NBA championship to date.
After many years of being one of the premier talents in the league, Nowitzki was able to lead his team to the promised land.
He beat the Miami Heat of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in the Finals.
People could say this run has been glorified, but the things Nowitzki did during that postseason were remarkable.
He played through an illness, with an injured hand, and contrary to most of his rivals, he didn’t have another star by his side.
Moreover, Dirk’s career was so much more than that playoff run, but fans know that was a hard task and will never forget it.
