Just hours after the end of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers, rumors about their future began to pop up.
Insiders were wondering if the team will try to land Kyrie Irving or perhaps another guard to strengthen their offense.
According to Jovan Buha, via NBACentral, the Lakers are reportedly considering making a play for Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks this offseason.

Rumors about Young flying the Hawks’ nest have been circulating for months now.
It wouldn’t be shocking to see him depart from Atlanta as soon as another team makes a run at him.
But will that team be the Lakers?
The response to this rumor was a strong mix of both criticism and excitement.
Some people are much more in favor of the Lakers trying to get Irving instead of Young.

Others are happy with the idea of Young, Irving, or any star that convinces LeBron James to stay on the team and out of retirement.

Others were worried that the Lakers would have to give up a lot to get Young, which would deplete the roster and leave them in a situation much like the one they had with Russell Westbrook.

And some joked that this will be just the beginning of a slew of trade rumors that will revolve around the Lakers in the weeks ahead.
Within the next week the Lakers will reportedly consider making a play for anyone in the NBA. This will include trying to coax players out of retirement. Talks are underway to bring Magic back. Not as a starter of course, that would be silly. At his age he'll come off the bench.

The team definitely has some choices to make.
They need to weigh all their options carefully.
If they trade away too many players to get someone like Young or Irving, they will not have any depth.
But if they don’t make any changes, their offense will continue to come up short.
