The Tennessee Titans are looking toward the future at quarterback.
That is why they spent the 33rd overall pick on quarterback Will Levis.
Using that premium of draft capital on a quarterback means you expect him to start for your team at some point.
Well, that time may not come until at least the 2024 season.
According to Dianna Russini via Dov Kleiman, the Titans will have Ryan Tannehill as their starting quarterback for the 2023 season.
Update: QB Ryan Tannehill is the "Week 1 Starter" for the #Titans, per @diannaESPN
"This is his team, he's the guy."
There was a lot of speculation about the Titans moving on from Tannehill and even made calls to other teams about him but he remains their starter Week 1. pic.twitter.com/oFUDfK0r9u

Tannehill is entering the final year of his contract, and the Titans are going to let him play that out.
But with the way his career has been trending, you can expect he will not return to Tennessee after this year.
Also, many Titans fans are looking to move on from Tannehill now.
I can’t take it anymore https://t.co/jXIHuHdxye

Well that sucks

Tannehill hasn’t done much in recent years to give Titans fans hope of him having a good season.
Levis was one of the most polarizing quarterback prospects in the draft.
He has the size and arm strength that every team looks for but his college stats were not impressive.
But some fans are not ready to believe this report with still so much time before the season begins.
This means literally nothing. It’s May 10th.

Levis may be able to learn a lot sitting behind Tannehill for one season.
He does not seem like the type of prospect that can step in and produce from day one.
Tannehill will give them the best chance to win in 2023 but expectations will have to be tempered.
I just will always wonder what if Stroud fell to #3 lol
Anyways, this really can’t be a shock. #Titans are still trying to sell winning to the fans.
There was no trade market. He’s better than rookie Levis obviously. So yeah. https://t.co/uqeFyS74VO

Tannehill missed five games last season due to injury.
He is also entering his age-35 season.
It appears that another injury will be the only way we see Levis on the field next season.
