The Minnesota Vikings are going through a bit of a transition.
The team has already let go of Adam Thielen and Za’Darius Smith, and they could look to part ways with another of their veterans.
According to Albert Breer, the Vikings almost traded star running back Dalvin Cook to the Miami Dolphins, but the deal eventually fell off.

Of course, this report prompted multiple mixed reviews on social media, with some people thinking he’s already done, and others urging the Dolphins to pick up these trade talks.

Cook’s future with the team is bleak at best right now.
The Vikings are looking to cut back expenses and go younger, and as good as Cook has been for the most part of his career, he’s also been quite injury-prone.
The Dolphins struggled to get anything going on the ground last season, and they were expected to make it a point of emphasis to revamp their RB room this offseason, which hasn’t been the case thus far.
Should they no longer be interested in Cook, they could still look to bring in another veteran, such as Kareem Hunt or Ezekiel Elliott, albeit neither of them looks like a bell-cow kind of running back at this point in their careers.
Otherwise, expect the Dolphins to run another pass-heavy offense in 2023, and it’s not like they should make a lot of big changes to what already worked last season, as they made the playoffs despite QB Tua Tagovailoa missing multiple games in the concussion protocol.
