The season is now officially over for the Phoenix Suns.
After being blown out by the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, the Suns are out of the playoffs despite some people thinking they’d reach the Finals just a few months ago.
With the season ending the way that it did, everyone is wondering what’s next for Phoenix.
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, via NBACentral, the Suns are expected to “aggressively” shop Chris Paul this summer.
That would mark the end of Paul’s mostly-successful tenure in Phoenix.

It’s ‘pretty likely’ that Chris Paul will be playing for a different team next season 😳

Some people online were shocked by this report, while others weren’t a bit surprised.
Others felt that Phoenix was overreacting to a postseason that came up short.
why does this feel like an overreaction to me

There were plenty of people thinking that Phoenix won’t get anyone of value for Paul, who has experienced multiple injuries over the last few years, asks for a hefty contract, and is getting older.
I don’t see any team trading Chris Paul for anything that’s even somewhat valuable.

Some even suggested that Paul would retire instead of moving to a new team.
He gonna retire

Certain fans online took the news as a chance to poke fun at Paul and the fact that he may never win a championship ring.
His ring chances are done smh

We aren’t sure if any team will jump at the chance to sign Paul or if he ever will win a Finals ring.
But it seems clear that he will probably not be in Phoenix next year.
This will be a huge change for the team and a massive turn of events for Paul.
There is a chance that the Suns will make more changes.
Will Paul be the first of many people to depart this promising but troubled team?
