The New York Mets are one of the most disappointing teams in MLB this season.
They have failed to reach the high expectations that many people set for them.
After a 101-win season last year, making it back to the playoffs was the main goal.
Well, they have found themselves in a place where their goal is not looking likely.
The Mets are 36-43 on the year and sit 16.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves for first place in the NL East.
Also, they are 8.5 games out of a Wild Card spot.
Mets owner Steve Cohen decide to have a press conference regarding the state of his team.
According to FOX Sports: MLB, Cohen is preparing his management team for all possibilities if they cannot turn their season around.

Many Mets fans have already lost hope in this team and this season.
All is lost, Steve

The Mets have failed at just about everything this season.
Their pitching has been poor and their hitting has a lot of room for improvement.
Some fans hope the Mets trade all of their veterans and start a rebuild.
Trade em all for prospects baby let’s goooo

Cohen also made a strong comment in his press conference placing the blame on the players.
They are the ones underperforming on the field and many fans tend to agree.
I mean he ain’t wrong.

Even so, the Mets have one month to try and turn their season around.
The trade deadline is on August 1 and that will be when Cohen has to decide what to do with the team.
This seems more and more like a lost season for the Mets.
But their owner is at least holding out hope for a bounce-back second half.
