The Charlotte Hornets have been one of the worst teams in the NBA on an annual basis for quite some time, with the struggling franchise simply unable to put together a winning combination of players that can get it done on the basketball floor on a consistent basis.
Even when the Hornets seem to be onto something and ready to have a breakout year, injuries start piling up, and it is back to the norm for the Charlotte franchise.
With the start of the 2023-24 NBA season right around the corner, Hornets head coach Steve Clifford made a bold statement about his team by claiming he’s got a good squad.
Even though there’s a lot of talent on this team, from LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward to rookie Brandon Miller, it’s hard to see this squad doing much of anything during the upcoming season, let alone being a “good” team via NBA Central.

Clearly, no basketball fans, or if the Hornets actually have fans, are buying this quote from Clifford, as this team has been a disappointment year after year.
However, anything can happen in the NBA, as some teams can right the ship quickly and change the narrative like the Sacramento Kings did last season and now are considered a legitimate playoff team in the Western Conference.
Even the Oklahoma City Thunder can be thrown into this discussion, as they could be a team on the verge of turning things around, so anything is possible.
