The NBA offseason wasn’t kind to the Memphis Grizzlies, with things getting started off with superstar guard Ja Morant getting suspended for 25 games to start the 2023-24 regular season for his off-the-court antics that were thought to have been corrected after his last incident.
Along with Morant having to serve his lengthy suspension to begin this season, the Grizzlies dealt with a number of injuries to key players, with Brandon Clarke still trying to get back from an Achilles injury and center Steven Adams undergoing season-ending knee surgery before the season started.
It hasn’t been a great year for the Grizzlies, and the team’s record reflects that, with Memphis being one of the worst teams in the league right now at 6-16, which is only three wins better than the lowly San Antonio Spurs, who are sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Fortunately for Memphis, Morant’s return to the floor is imminent, as he is set to get back on the floor for the Grizzlies on December 19 when the team takes on the New Orleans Pelicans on the road.
In the meantime, Morant was seen getting up some shots ahead of the game against the Houston Rockets, via Kelly Iko of The Athletic and ClutchPoints.

Here are some fan reactions to Morant getting closer and closer to his return to the basketball floor for the Grizzlies:

At this point, it may be incredibly tough for Morant to help get this team back into playoff contention, even though a lot of basketball is left to be played.
Undoubtedly, he’ll be out to put on a show in his return, but only time will tell if he can right the ship for Memphis this season.
