Before the start of this season, all Brooklyn Nets fans were hoping for good things from Ben Simmons, but they didn’t expect much.
So far, he is having another very rough season that leaves much to be desired.
NBACentral pointed out his track record so far, featuring games with just four and two points.
He is averaging only 5.8 points, 6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists this year.
Fans online were quick to pounce on Simmons and his lack of output on the court.

Some people called him a “triple-single machine” and ridiculed the fact that he has a hard time breaking double digits now.
Remember, Simmons averaged 15.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game during his first season when he won Rookie of the Year.
That wasn’t that long ago, back in the 2017-18 season.

A lot of people are taking issue with the fact that Simmons is being paid good money to play so poorly.
He is making more than $40 million in 2024-25, which happens to be his last year on contract with the Nets.

Many fans are upset that Simmons is playing this way when he should be performing much better and earning either a contract extension with the Nets or a deal with another team.

The season is still young and Simmons has plenty of time to turn things around and put up stronger numbers.
But the past indicates that probably won’t happen and this could be another weak season from the former No. 1 draft pick.
Simmons fell from grace long ago but fans have constantly wanted better for him.
Sadly, this season is starting just like the last and that’s very troubling.
