The 2025 NFL Draft won’t be quite as star-studded as the 2024 draft was, but there should still be a few players available who have plenty of potential.
There is currently a three-way tie for the worst record in the league between the Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants, and fans of all three teams are undoubtedly hoping for the No. 1 pick in this April’s draft.
The Jaguars have starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence in concussion protocol, and they also placed him on injury reserve due to a shoulder injury that caused him to miss a couple of games in November, per Ari Meirov.

This decision led fans to accuse the Jaguars of openly tanking for that No. 1 draft pick.

Prior to the start of this season, Lawrence received a record-tying five-year, $275 million contract, and thus there were fairly high expectations for him and his team coming into September.
But his numbers have been lower this season in terms of passing yards and pass completion percentage, and other key players on offense, such as running back Travis Etienne and wide receiver Christian Kirk, have also experienced a drop in their production.
If Jacksonville ends up getting the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft and still believe Lawrence is capable of being their franchise QB, they could take someone such as Travis Hunter, the star two-way player from the University of Colorado.
Hunter plays both wide receiver and cornerback, and he has logged 92 catches, 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns on offense, plus 11 passes defended and four interceptions as a defensive back.
