The Atlanta Falcons’ offense was fairly disappointing last season.
But with Michael Penix Jr. set to take the reins from day one, they’re expected to take a big leap in Raheem Morris’ second year in charge.
With that in mind, the team made the easy decision to keep one of his potential favorite targets around for the long run.
They just picked up WR Drake London’s fifth-year option, which was never in doubt.

The Falcons took London with the No. 8 pick back in 2022, and he established himself as the team’s primary pass-catching weapon from day one.
The fifth-year option will go into effect for the 2026 season, and he’s now slated to make around $16.8 million that year.
That’s a significant raise from his $6.8 million salary for the upcoming campaign.
London is coming off a strong season in 2024, finishing fourth in the league in receiving yards (1,271) despite being ninth in receptions (100).
That was the first time in his career topping at least 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards, and he also had nine touchdown receptions.
Despite not having a steady quarterback situation since he entered the league, London has proven to be one of the most productive pass-catchers in the league.
He’s had five different quarterbacks since he was drafted, but the results have been the same.
So far, he’s hauled in 241 receptions for 3,042 yards and 15 touchdowns in his three-year career, and it shouldn’t be long before the Falcons sign him to a contract extension that makes him one of the highest-paid wide receivers in the league.
