Patrick Mahomes caused some worry for the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans after suffering a high ankle sprain that forced him out of their Week 15 game.
Despite the win against the Cleveland Browns, the immediate concern was the health of Mahomes as the team had a short week before its Week 16 matchup against the Houston Texans.
Fortunately, Mahomes was able to practice throughout the week and was able to start against the Texans in a pivotal matchup that has playoff-seeding implications in the AFC.
The issue was whether or not Mahomes would be able to operate as close to 100 percent as normal given the nature of his injury.
However, Mahomes put any sort of concerns to bed after the first drive of the game as he scrambled out of pressure twice and scored a touchdown.
After the first drive, everyone had the same thing to say about the superstar.
“Mahomes’s ankle continues to heal faster than any injury in history,” Barstool Sports wrote on X.

Mahomes has become notorious for suffering ankle injuries yet being able to come back and tough out games despite the pain and limited mobility.
In the posted video clip, he doesn’t look hampered at all as he simply takes the football himself and scrambles for the game’s first touchdown.
By all accounts, Mahomes looks healthy, which bodes well for a Kansas City offense that needs him to have any hope of defeating Houston.
Things look solid for the Chiefs, though it remains to be seen if Mahomes can hold up the rest of the way.
