On Monday night, Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green was tasked with guarding Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks.
That didn’t go so well and Brunson posted 34 points against the Warriors on the way to a strong road victory.
On the latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show,” Green spoke about how hard it is to minimize Brunson.
“Guarding him in pick and roll is tough, almost impossible,” Green said, via DJ on Twitter.

Green said that Brunson is playing at an “All-NBA level” and is able to score for his team in multiple ways.
He is capable of getting low into the post and scoring, shooting from the perimeter, and also putting up consequential floaters and mid-range shots.
Green said that Brunson is “crafty” with his body and able to get past just about anyone when he is in a pick-and-roll situation.
Even someone as experienced, talented, and successful as Green is afraid of Brunson in that sort of scenario and would much rather guard Brunson one-on-one.
Green noted that he and the Warriors faced Brunson in the playoffs a few years ago when he was still with the Dallas Mavericks.
Although Green was impressed by the player then, he states that Brunson has become a much better player since moving to the Knicks.
This season, Brunson is recording 27.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game on 47.8% from the floor.
Like Green said, he has become a better shooter and, more importantly, a better leader since coming to New York.
2023-24 has been an amazing season for Brunson, earning him his first All-Star appearance and a ton of praise from all over the league.
Everyone, including opponents like Green, sees how phenomenally Brunson is playing this year.
