The Golden State Warriors put down the Washington Wizards on Monday night, beating them 125-112 and increasing their record to a strong and somewhat surprising 6-1.
The game gave fans a chance to see former Warriors star Jordan Poole play and he did quite well.
Following the game, Draymond Green spoke with the press and Anthony Slater about Poole and had incredibly kind things to say about Poole.
After saying that Poole is playing “a lot better”, Green noted that his shots are landing more this year and that his last season was troubled not because of a lack of skill but because of an excess of passion.

Green admitted that Poole didn’t play amazing basketball last season but that was because he just wanted to win so much that he was taking all sorts of shots, even ill-advised ones.
Things are looking a lot better in 2024-25 and Poole is currently averaging 22.5 points and 5.0 assists on 44.9% shooting from the field and a 45.3% three-point percentage.
It’s nice to see Green praise Poole so much, especially given their rocky past.
As all NBA fans remember, Green faced serious controversy after he was caught on camera punching Poole during a practice session before the 2022-23 NBA season.
Green missed some time with the team, publicly apologized, and said he and Poole were on better terms, but it seemed that things were never quite the same after that.
Following that ugliness, Poole played one more season with the Warriors before he headed to the Wizards.
It took Poole some time to figure things out, but he is in much better shape now and many people, including Green, have noticed.
