The Washington Wizards have been through a lot over the past decade or so.
However, for the first time in years, it seems like they might be heading in the right direction.
Granted, they might not win a lot of games this season, but they’ve put together a young team full of strong competitors.
That’s why, even after a loss, Draymond Green wanted to give credit where it was due.
Following the game, the Golden State Warriors star praised them for playing hard, crediting Bilal Coulibaly and Kyshawn George for that (via Bijan Todd):
“That’s the first time we’ve seen a Washington Wizards team play that hard in years, and it’s because of [Bub and Kyshawn’s] energy,” he said.
I asked Draymond Green what he thought about the Wizards’ young core and his answer was…incredible.

Coulibaly wasn’t that impressive as a rookie, but scouts had him as one of the most intriguing prospects in the league.
While not much of a shooter, he showed the potential to be an absolute pest on defense, not to mention someone who can get his teammates involved, rebound the ball, and have a high basketball IQ.
The same applies to George, who has excelled with his strong energy on both ends of the floor.
The Wizards also have Alexandre Sarr, who was projected as the best player in this NBA Draft class.
Although he has gotten off to a slow start, especially offensively, he has the potential to be one of the most dominant rebounders and rim protectors in the league.
Jordan Poole has received a lot of criticism, but he’s still young and just learning how to be a leader.
It will take them a while, but the Wizards are finally trending up.
