The week leading to the Super Bowl used to be a big joy around the NFL.
The best players in the league used to go toe-to-toe in skill challenges or the Pro Bowl.
That’s no longer the case.
The best players usually hold out of the Pro Bowl, and we don’t get to see as many superstars as we used to back in the day.
That’s why even a rookie quarterback like Drake Maye got the nod this time.
When asked about the most surprising thing about being a Pro Bowler, the first-year pro had a hilarious response.
Talking to Kay Adams for her “Up & Adams” show, Maye admitted that he didn’t even know he would get paid for playing in the Pro Bowl Games.

Of course, Maye is a very promising young player, and he looked like a potential star when he was finally given an opportunity to start for the Patriots.
Then again, from that to actually earning a Pro Bowl nod might be a huge stretch.
Maye will most likely get that distinction multiple times in the future.
He might even get to skip it soon because he will be getting ready to play in the Super Bowl.
The Patriots just hired Mike Vrabel to be their next head coach and lead the team back to contention after years of struggles in the post-Tom Brady era.
Fortunately, they seem to have the most crucial piece of the puzzle after seemingly finding their franchise quarterback.
