The New York Giants have a problem at quarterback right now.
Daniel Jones has struggled with multiple injuries, and he hasn’t been all that impressive, even when healthy.
There have been multiple rumors about decision-makers within the Giants organization no longer being sold on the Duke product.
They might be ready to move on from him, and they could use the 2024 NFL Draft as the first step in that direction.
According to NFL Draft expert Matt Miller, the Giants could turn to Michigan star J.J. McCarthy with the No. 6 selection in the upcoming edition of the draft (via WBG84).

Miller argues that this could be the perfect move for Brian Daboll’s team, as they could even have McCarthy sitting out one season behind Jones if they don’t feel like he’s ready for action right away.
McCarthy was a polarizing figure in the earlier stages of the draft, with some even doubting his status as a first-round pick.
However, his draft stock has risen drastically over the past couple of weeks and especially after his Pro Day.
He wasn’t asked to do much in a run-heavy Michigan offense, but he was sound and efficient in the pocket, and he showed an ability to make plays when needed.
Now, McCarthy is expected to be the first quarterback off the board after the top three are all set, and it wouldn’t be all that shocking to see the Giants looking to get their hands on the National Champion.
