In a lot of ways, the social media era has been a fantastic thing for the sports world.
Fans feel closer to their favorite players now more than ever before, and players can establish their off-field personalities via videos, podcasts, pictures, and general posts.
While this connection can certainly be a positive, it’s also created some tension, especially between players and teams.
Social media gives players a platform and confidence to post whatever they want, which can sometimes come as a slight to their current team.
Take Myles Garrett, for instance, who, via social media, was able to publically request a trade from the Cleveland Browns.
The Miami Dolphins have been on the receiving end of some frustrating comments from some of their top players online, including Tyreek Hill, who has indicated that he’d like to play elsewhere in the future.
He’s since walked back those comments, but the damage, in a sense, has already been done.
With that in mind, in a recent segment on NFL Live on ESPN, Jeff Darlington said that the Dolphins have a “culture issue to address,” which starts with their star players.

The Dolphins haven’t been quite the same since they made the playoffs in 2023, as the team’s chemistry hasn’t been what it once was.
They have struggled with injuries to some of their top players, but as a whole, this team has not been flowing as well as they’d like.
If things don’t improve soon, the Dolphins could be headed down a path of mediocrity, a frustrating point for fans considering the star power they have on the roster.
