Tyreek Hill‘s future with the Miami Dolphins was a big question even before the start of the season.
And now that he’s sustained a season-ending knee injury, things look even worse for him.
According to a report by Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, we’ve already seen the last of him in a Dolphins uniform:
“The Dolphins wide receiver suffered a dislocated knee in Monday’s win against the Jets, tearing multiple ligaments including his ACL that required surgery this week. The five-time first-team All Pro was in the second year of a three-year contract extension with Miami, and league sources expect the Dolphins to release Hill before the start of the next league year in March 2026,” Jones wrote.
Hill had the worst season of his career last season.
On top of his subpar production, he was a constant distraction because of his antics and his scandals off the field.
To add insult to injury, he claimed to be done with the team and requested a trade, and even though he ultimately backpedaled and even apologized, Tua Tagovailoa made it sound like he wasn’t very popular in the locker room anymore.
He was expected to be a trade candidate at some point in the season if the Dolphins didn’t get it together, and the fact that the team didn’t sign him to a contract extension was more than telling of the way they felt about him.
He got off to a solid start to the season and was finally looking like the dominant offensive force he had been for most of his career.
Still, the Dolphins have so many glaring holes on the team, and they’re not just one piece away from being back to contention.
Hill should gauge some interest as a free agent, but expecting him to be the same player he was in his prime might be nothing more than wishful thinking.
