On Sunday afternoon, the Milwaukee Bucks took down the Los Angeles Clippers and their two biggest players worked magically together.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 34 points and 10 assists, while Damian Lillard one-upped him and recorded 35 points and 11 assists.
As noted by Eric Nehm of The Athletic, they are now the first duo in NBA history to have 20+ points and 10+ assists in back-to-back games.
He wrote about how head coach Doc Rivers has worked hard to help this partnership become a two-man powerhouse.
“In fact, [Doc] Rivers has asked them to focus on it so much in practices and shootarounds that the whole team laughs about it in practice,” Nehm wrote.

Lillard joined the Bucks back in the summer and his addition was seen as a huge key to winning another NBA championship.
They have remained competitive all season but they also haven’t felt like the dominant Eastern Conference squad that people had hoped for.
That being said, Milwaukee has looked a lot better recently.
The team has won seven of their last nine games and has been performing very well since the All-Star break.
A big part of that is because of Antetokounmpo and Lillard, who have found a terrific rhythm together.
This duo was seen as the one to beat when 2023-24 tipped off but then it became abundantly clear that it was going to take time for them to find their footing and really work cohesively together.
That time has come and they are now the one-two punch that the Bucks needed.
This is happening at the perfect time because the playoffs are just weeks away.
Antetokounmpo and Lillard are finally the two-man combination that is putting the rest of the league on notice.
