The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs didn’t start their title defense off the way they would have liked as they were upset by the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
Despite being at home at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chiefs surprisingly fell to the Lions 21-20.
Kansas City’s offense clearly suffered without Travis Kelce who was a late scratch due to hyper-extending his knee in practice earlier that week.
Even with Patrick Mahomes under center, he found trouble connecting with his receiver corps.
Despite Rashee Rice and Marquez Valdez-Scantling coming up with some big plays, Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney were largely disappointing.
The Chiefs wide receiver room isn’t what it used to be which is why Dez Bryant called for them to try and trade for a star at the position via his Twitter account.
“Can we get @stefondiggs to the Kansas City chiefs!!! I’ll love to see it!! OMG!” Bryant tweeted.

Stefon Diggs is one of the best receivers in the NFL and he put on a show in a loss to the New York Jets as he put up 10 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown.
That kind of production is something most of the receivers on Kansas City would dream about producing, so Diggs makes for a perfect target should he ever come available.
However, Buffalo would be foolish to let go of their star as he and Josh Allen are the backbone of their offense.
It’s fun to imagine Diggs catching passes from Mahomes, but that will likely just remain a dream.
