Cam Thomas of the Brooklyn Nets remains a restricted free agent, and it is not clear where he will be next season.
Will he stick with the Nets or find a better deal with a different squad?
According to Jake Weinbach, Thomas is reportedly seeking $30 million per year on his next potential deal, but the Nets have offered him something closer to $14 million.
“The two sides are clearly far apart in negotiations and there isn’t expected to be a resolution on a long-term agreement anytime soon,” Weinbach said.

The two sides are far apart, but many people think they need each other to move forward, so why can’t they meet in the middle and make a compromise?
It’s possibly because the Nets have no incentive to change their approach.
They know that Thomas won’t find the sort of deal he wants with any other team, and so they have no reason to offer him more.
Recent reports have said that other teams view Thomas as a bench player who is demanding a starter’s salary.
Therefore, it doesn’t seem like any other team is going to jump at the chance to give Thomas a big contract.
On top of that, most teams across the league are strapped for cash, meaning they literally cannot grant him $30 million a year unless they make major changes.
There just doesn’t seem to be a pathway for Thomas to get his dream contract right now.
So, what does he do?
Time is starting to run out, and Thomas will need to make his decision soon.
He might have a certain number in his mind, but he probably isn’t going to get it this time.
