Recent reports have said Cam Thomas wants a hefty new deal with the Brooklyn Nets, or any team that hopes to have him.
However, he may soon run headfirst into a tough reality: other teams don’t want to spend much on him.
According to Grant Afseth, via Legion Hoops, “many NBA teams view Cam Thomas as a bench player who wants star money.”
If that is the truth, it’ll be hard for him to receive the sort of deal he longs for.

Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 43.8 percent from the field last season.
He has been with the Nets since the start of his career, and a lot of people thought he’d become an even bigger part of the team next season, due to changes in the lineup.
However, recent rumors have said that he is weighing all of his options.
He believes the time has come for him to step up and become a bigger part of a more competitive team, but that may be a pipe dream right now.
If these other teams don’t view him the same way he does, Thomas could be stuck with the Nets, and with a contract that he isn’t wild about.
With that being said, other squads could get desperate and change their tune in the weeks ahead.
His desire to earn a robust deal with another team might be far-fetched, at least right now, but things could change.
Is the right team still out there, and could Thomas find the front office that will give him what he wants?
