Because of the depth of their roster and recent acquisitions, there was some speculation about who the starting point guard would be for the Los Angeles Lakers.
NBA legend Derek Fisher believes the choice is clear.
Speaking to Spectrum SportsNets, Fisher talked about D’Angelo Russell and the great decision-making and passing skills he has shown so far in the preseason.

Fisher is particularly impressed with how quick Russell is, both mentally and physically.
He highlighted clips that showed Russell moving to open spots in a short amount of time.
He looks for space on the floor, fills it, and sets up a shot in the blink of an eye.
But like all good point guards, Russell is always on the lookout for his teammates too.
He has always been a good passer and is consistently finding other Lakers stars to dish the ball to.
All of this taken together is giving the Lakers a real advantage.
On Monday night, the Lakers took down the Brooklyn Nets in their second preseason outing.
Russell was a strong part of the team’s victory, earning 14 points and 6 assists.
He also shot 62.5% from the floor and went 4-of-5 from the three-point line.
The young guard was looking comfortable and confident and seemed completely in his element.
During his first few months back with the Lakers last season, Russell averaged 17.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists.
He was showing promise but he also suffered from some inconsistency, especially in the postseason.
For the time being, it appears as if he has shaken that off and is ready to burst into the new season looking as good as new.
