When most people talk about the success of the Denver Nuggets, they almost always speak of Nikola Jokic and his Hall of Fame skills.
And while Jokic is obviously the lynchpin of the team, several other players are making this great season possible.
One of them is Michael Porter Jr., who has been outstanding since the All-Star break.
According to The Lead, he has been averaging 21.3 points and 7.3 rebounds during that time.
Additionally, he has earned 57/33/93 splits and has a 69.6% true shooting percentage.
When it comes to players averaging 20+ points during that period, no one has a higher true shooting number.
MPJ since the All-Star Break:

– 7.3 RPG
– 57/44/93 splits
– 69.6% true shooting

The Nuggets have looked like the champions they are lately, going on a 13-2 run with Porter helping them out a lot.
He has been a phenomenal talent, especially when it comes to offense.
Porter is the third-best scorer for the team, posting 17.1 points on average.
However, he is scoring the most three-pointers for the team, recording 2.8 per game in 2023-24.
Porter brings a lot to the team and he’s a huge help because of how much he can space the floor.
When Porter is playing well, opponents are at a loss about who to guard.
They already have their hands full with Jokic and Jamal Murray and Porter just complicates plans even more.
Porter adds an immense amount of depth and it’s a major reason why so many other teams fear the Nuggets.
The Nuggets are the second seed in the West right now but many fans and analysts think they have the best chance of reaching the NBA Finals again.
This is because they are so well-rounded and deep, and Porter is a huge part of that.
If he keeps playing this well in the weeks ahead, Denver will be very hard to slow down in the playoffs.
