The New Orleans Saints are a team in the NFL that has gone through some drastic changes over the course of the NFL offseason, as the franchise has made a change at the quarterback position with the team bringing in Derek Carr to be its new starter under center.
With Carr now in the fold, Dennis Allen and company want to get this once-dominant franchise back on track and playoff-bound while taking advantage of a weak NFC South division.
Unfortunately, the Saints will get the 2023 NFL season underway a bit shorthanded, with the team set to be without star running back Alvin Kamara due to a three-game suspension handed down by the league.
With the Saints without arguably their best offensive player to start the upcoming season, Allen shared his reaction to the news and how New Orleans will handle it moving forward via NOF.

Although losing Kamara is a costly blow for a new-look team trying to get off to a quick start, Allen has a point when he says that they know they’ll have their star running back coming out of the backfield for 14 games, which is still a major positive for the Saints.
As Allen says, it’s disappointing not to have Kamara right out of the gate, but it is what it is, and the team will have to move forward regardless.
With Kamara suspended for the first three games of the 2023 campaign, the Saints will likely turn to Jamaal Williams to fill the void in the backfield, which isn’t a bad thing at all, with the 28-year-old coming off an incredible season.
Williams rushed for 1,066 yards and 17 touchdowns on 262 carries last season.
