The Houston Texans took a massive leap in production in 2023 compared to their 2022 campaign.
They finished the 2022 season with a 3-13-1 record but turned things around in 2023, finishing the year with a 10-7 record.
C.J. Stroud was a big reason for the team’s success, bringing them to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
Now that the Texans have seen the type of player Stroud can be, they are doing everything possible to build the team around him.
The front office has already made many big moves throughout the offseason, including a major ramp-up of their defense.
After seeing the moves that have been made, DeMeco Ryans spoke with reporter Aaron Wilson to convey his thoughts.
“We’re excited about the guys we’ve added,” Ryans said.

While Danielle Hunter was seen as the Texans’ most significant defensive move, Ryans was clear in saying, “It’s not about one guy.”
He believes the Texans have worked strategically to fill all of the team’s necessary holes.
Hunter’s contract might have been the biggest, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will have the most meaningful impact on this team.
By adopting this team-first mindset, Ryans hopes the Texans can take another step forward.
Yes, it was an excellent accomplishment for Stroud to lead this team to the playoffs, but that isn’t their ultimate goal.
Every team’s goal is to win the Super Bowl, which naturally leaves 31 other teams disappointed after the season.
Will Ryans and the Texans find a way to make a deeper playoff run this season with their recent moves in mind?
