There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the upcoming NFL season if you’re a Houston Texans fan.
However, starting off this new era with a road date with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens might not be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Still, when asked about their schedule for the upcoming campaign, head coach DeMeco Ryans stated that his team is excited and looking forward to that matchup, lauding the Ravens for the moves they made in the offseason to add more firepower to their offense and praising Jackson’s game.

Moreover, Ryans looked excited about having their home opener against a divisional rival like the Indianapolis Colts, and that’s a game that will be marked on everyone’s calendars.
That Week 2 matchup will most likely mark the first time C.J. Stroud goes against Anthony Richardson in a duel of top-four picks and potential generational stars.
The Texans also revamped their defense by adding standout prospect Will Anderson Jr., who could also make an immediate impact, especially against Richardson and the Colts.
Houston made a big splash in the offseason by hiring Ryans as their new head coach.
He had found plenty of success as the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator, and he looked like the perfect person to turn their losing culture around, being that he was a player in that organization and knows the ropes of the NFL inside and out.
It might take them a little longer to go back to their winning ways, but good things are finally happening in Houston.
