The MVP award is one of the most coveted awards across the NFL, likely the second-most meaningful trophy a player can take home besides the Lombardi.
However, recently, the NVP award has been something that players look forward to receiving due to its whimsical nature.
Yesterday, the NVP was awarded to a member of the New York Giants for his spectacular play during Wild Card Weekend.

The NVP, or Nickelodeon Valuable Player, is an award given out by fans of the network.
This has been an award for the past two seasons, and although it’s mostly a fun award, it does highlight a player that had an elite performance the week prior.
Jones was certainly deserving of this award but should be getting recognized at a more national level as well, not just on a children’s network.
In their game against the Minnesota Vikings, Jones showed up for the Giants in a big way, resulting in their Wild Card win.
Jones threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns, and also added 78 rushing yards.
This is Jones’ fourth season in the league and will be up for a new contract once the Giants’ playoff run comes to a close.
Although many have been skeptical of Jones, and his ability to have a sustained career in the NFL, it is tough to argue with results, especially in the playoffs.
Jones proved this past weekend that he can win in a big game, and looks to have a repeat performance against the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend.
