Daniel Jones has transformed his career in Indianapolis, earning the nickname “Indiana Jones” after just two impressive regular-season games with the Indianapolis Colts.
The $14 million free-agent addition has thrown for 588 yards and two touchdowns while adding three rushing scores to keep defenses off balance.
The quarterback recently appeared on the Up & Adams Show, where host Kay Adams asked about his preference for future nicknames.
Jones showed little attachment to any particular moniker but acknowledged his friends’ enthusiasm for the Indiana Jones connection.
“I don’t really have a strong opinion on it,” Jones said. “I had some buddies in town this weekend. They were all about it. They had bought some Indiana Jones T-shirts and stuff. So, I guess they’re excited about it. I don’t, I don’t really care. They want to start selling them now.”

Jones led the Colts to their first 2-0 start since 2009, a milestone that recalls the Peyton Manning era.
His statistical performance has been equally impressive, ranking second in the league with 588 passing yards behind only Russell Wilson’s 618.
Jones maintains a 71.4% completion rate and 111.1 passer rating, both ranking sixth in the NFL through two games.
The early success has validated Indianapolis’s decision to start Jones over Anthony Richardson.
ESPN’s power rankings reflected the team’s improved play, jumping from 23rd after Week 1 to 14th after Week 2.
Jones has shed his “Danny Dimes” identity from his New York Giants days for a fresh beginning in Indianapolis.
His strong start provides hope that he could be the long-term answer Indianapolis has sought at quarterback since Manning’s departure.
