The Detroit Lions lost more than just one game this weekend.
As premature as this might sound, they could’ve also lost their shot at a Super Bowl next season.
The Lions have two of the most sought-after assistant coaches in the game, and it will be tough to replace them.
With that in mind, coach Dan Campbell admitted that he was getting ready to lose both of them to head coaching gigs next season (via Brad Galli).

Talking to the media, the Lions’ head coach argued that he feels he will lose both Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, but he hasn’t been told anything yet.
They’ve earned their stripes and the right to have a team of their own.
Johnson was a hot commodity around the league last season.
He returned to the Lions to finish some unfinished business and put together one of the most creative, explosive, and entertaining offenses to watch in recent NFL history.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t get to finish that business.
The team failed to win a single playoff game despite being at home and being the No. 1 seed.
As for Glenn, he’s also done an outstanding job of turning around an ever-struggling defense and making them a strong unit.
We’ve seen how teams can fall from grace once they lose their top assistants.
And with all the doubts about Campbell’s overly aggressive decision-making, next season might determine how good of a head coach he actually is.
