The Detroit Lions were supposed to make it to the Super Bowl this season.
At the very least, most people agreed that they should’ve made it to the NFC Championship Game.
Instead, they failed to win a single playoff game.
Their home loss to the Washington Commanders was the biggest upset of the playoffs so far, reigniting concerns about Jared Goff.
In the latest edition of the “Maggie and Perloff” show, they claimed they should never have expected to win with Goff at the helm.
"Jared Goff was determined to lose that game… that was a choke job. And honestly I don't know if Jared Goff can ever win with this team."@andrewperloff says the Lions have a QB problem after their loss in the playoffs, while @MaggieGray is also putting blame on the coaches pic.twitter.com/3DEeiF7LWv

Moreover, the fact that they have him locked in and under contract for years to come should only be a bigger concern.
Granted, Goff has looked much better since he was traded to the Lions.
He even looked like an MVP candidate at one point this season, and he did earn a big contract.
Then again, it’s hard to make a case for him after watching the tape.
Some quarterbacks don’t seem to have it in big games, and Goff might fall into that category.
That has been an issue since his days with the Los Angeles Rams.
Sometimes, it seems like you either have it or you don’t.
Of course, it’s not fair or accurate to blame him entirely for one loss, and they wouldn’t have gotten there if it wasn’t for him.
But with so many quarterbacks with a clutch gene who rise to the occasion when it matters the most, it’s painfully evident whenever another one does the opposite.
