After an on-the-court back-and-forth between Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard and up-and-coming guard Jordan Poole of the Golden State Warriors, there was thought to be bad blood between the two players.
Apparently, that’s not the case, with the face of the Blazers franchise recently making that abundantly clear on an appearance on “It Is What It Is.”
Lillard was asked about whether or not he likes Poole, who was recently traded by the Warriors to the Washington Wizards in exchange for future Hall of Famer Chris Paul.
The perennial All-Star guard was asked about his relationship with Poole and what started the friction between the two players, which seems to be nothing more than two competitive players going at one another on the basketball floor.
Clearly, Lillard has respect for Poole, as he began to follow his career after that on-court interaction during the then-Warriors guard’s rookie season.
Even though it seems like there’s a rift between Lillard and the Wizards newcomer, there doesn’t appear to be that much there, but who knows, it might not take much for things to spark up in the future.
Poole is starting fresh next season as he begins his new journey in the NBA with the Wizards, while Lillard continues to wait for what the future holds for him as he has asked the Blazers to trade him, and the team has yet to agree to a deal with another squad.
With Lillard wanting to land with the Miami Heat, Poole could see a lot more of the superstar guard as they’d both be playing in the Southeast division in the Eastern Conference.
